The main purpose of the
fire-resistant safe is to protect its contents from the fire.
This type of products are passing a number of certain tests conducted
by special institutions.
As a result of these tests a safe can be certificated
and obtain a special class which will contain some alphanumeric
consecution made of the next elements: 60, 120, B, DIS. Digits
mean the period of time in minutes when the safety of a paper
(B letter) inside such safe is guaranteed. DIS means the same
but for the magnete data carrier. The difference between paper
and magnete in this case is concluded in the fact that paper selfburns
at the temperature equal to or more than 170 C without any substantional
difference whether something was written on it or not (humidity
conditions are ignored), while magnete data carriers such as strimmers,
CD/DVD discs, etc. will be out of order just at the temperature
of 60C and humidity level of 80%.
By the way, statistic reports say that values
kept and stored in domestic conditions in 90% of cases are exposed
to the danger of fire while only in 10% it can be a theft .
