  Information -> How is a fire-resistant test held?

   How is a fire-resistant test held?

   In fire-resistant test a safe is put into the furnace and left over there at the temperature of 1000C until the temperature in the safe will reach the temperature at which paper starts to burn. Usually critical temperature is restricted by the level of 170C for paper and 55C for magnete disks, CD/DVD and other data carriers with the humidity of 80% for the last. French A2P and German VDMA certificates are given to the products that successfully pass tests that simulate the conditions of the real fire with the next list of procedures conducted:

      - Quick rising of the temperature;
      - Falling that simulates dynamic impacts in the collapsing building;
      - Thermic impact that simulates a feeding of powerful water stream.

   At the end of the test a safe that successfully passed it is certificated and obtains the special class. The class name represents a mix of digit and alphabet code: 60 or 120 digits and B or DIS letters. Above digits correspond to the maximum period of time in minutes that a safe is able to provide the safety of paper ("B" letter) and magnete datacarrier ("DIS" letters).
